ERIC DOERINGER

1974 born in USA

Eric Doeringer is a Brooklyn-based artist. Much of his work involves remaking pieces by other artists. Doeringer has shown his work at institutions including MoMA PS1, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Brooklyn Museum, La Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (France), and MUSAC (Spain). He also curated the exhibitions I Like The Art World And The Art World Likes Me at the EFA Project Space (New York) and The Matthew Barney Show at Jack the Pelican Presents (New York) and BOCA (San Francisco).

Eric Doeringer is a meta-meta artist, whose distinction is his focus on famous conceptualist pieces that are themselves “art about art”, and not on canonical works of Modernism. The meticulous care with which he produces his reproductions gives his enterprise a persuasive feeling of authenticity.
