Ethan Cohen Gallery is pleased to present Some Things Never Grow Back, a solo exhibition by Raul De Lara – on view at the Glass House at the KuBe Art Center from August 27, 2021, to October 30, 2021.
Some Things Never Grow Back is an exhibition showcasing six new hand-carved wooden sculptures celebrating and mourning aspects of life that do not come back once they go. Growing up in Mexico and part of the DACA program since 2012, De Lara has created a desert landscape inside a repurposed greenhouse exploring how DACA kids grow up too fast, family health complications, long-distance love, and work conditions for undocumented people in the United States.
The exhibition will preview August 27, 4 – 6 pm, and the opening reception will take place August 28, 2–4 pm.
